We claimed the soldering iron on insurance (the old one doesn't get very hot), so we can get a new one. I propose we get a hot air rework station instead, given the direction that modern electronics is taking. Does anyone have any suggestions for a reliable, quality model? -- BobAdamson
- Also, taken from the tools.ucc page:
- Tools the club really need (Much of our equipment was stolen in June 2009.)
- Adjustable wrench
- Earthing strap
- Logic probe
- Other types of crimpers: hexagonal
- Security screw bit set
- Solder Braid
- Jigsaw blades of various types
- Wire wrap tool
- Flux pens
- Tools the club would love to get their dirty little fingers on, or make
- Frequency meters
- Logic Analyser
- AVR Debugger
- Function generator
- PCB router
- Regulated power supply
- SMC rework station
- Yes this is an excellent idea - something people won't have at home/work, and is useful for stuff. Dunno which ones are good. Sparkfun sell a cheapish one? [msh]
