  • We claimed the soldering iron on insurance (the old one doesn't get very hot), so we can get a new one. I propose we get a hot air rework station instead, given the direction that modern electronics is taking. Does anyone have any suggestions for a reliable, quality model? -- BobAdamson

  • Also, taken from the tools.ucc page:
  • Tools the club really need (Much of our equipment was stolen in June 2009.)
    • Adjustable wrench
    • Earthing strap
    • Logic probe
    • Other types of crimpers: hexagonal
    • Security screw bit set
    • Solder Braid
    • Jigsaw blades of various types
    • Wire wrap tool
    • Flux pens
  • Tools the club would love to get their dirty little fingers on, or make
    • Frequency meters
    • Logic Analyser
    • AVR Debugger
    • Function generator
    • PCB router
    • Regulated power supply
    • SMC rework station
      • Yes this is an excellent idea - something people won't have at home/work, and is useful for stuff. Dunno which ones are good. Sparkfun sell a cheapish one? [msh]
