Clear message

MSC Napoli was a United Kingdom-flagged container ship that was deliberately broken up by salvors after she ran into difficulty in the English Channel on 18 January 2007. The Napoli sank not once, but twice in it's lifetime, having had 3,000 tonnes of steel added to the hull after sinking the first time. The second time was due to a cracked hull after a storm; it was refloated, only to be sunk *again* due to a 3m crack in the hull and keel. It then had to be blown up *twice*, after the first attempt at demolishing the wreck was unsuccessful.
