Previously known as Physics 101. This is mostly a rehash of highschool physics and covers Newtonian Mechanics, Thermodynamics and some Quantum (if I remember correctly). Has several compulsory labs, which are pretty much all the attendance that is required if you know your physics pretty well. These labs consist of 2 marks, 1 for searching google for a simple answer prior to the lab (ie, doing prelab), and another for walking in the door and making some minor attempt at actually doing the lab (attendance). Previously known as Physics 101. This is mostly a rehash of highschool physics and covers Optics, Newtonian Mechanics, Thermodynamics and some Quantum (if I remember correctly).

It is the opinion of several students that the lectures (at least for Optics) are insufficient to understand the topic or answer the questions; reference to the textbook will be necessary. The textbook is Fundamentals of Physics, by Halliday, Resnick and Walker.

The unit has several compulsory labs. These labs consist of 4 marks. The marks are allocated for attempt/success in completing the lab. 1 is lost if you can't be bothered to do the prelab - which can usually be done from trivial textbook reading or googling for a simple answer.
