Previously known as Physics 101. This is mostly a rehash of highschool physics and covers Optics, Newtonian Mechanics, Thermodynamics and some Quantum (if I remember correctly).
The unit has several compulsory labs. These labs consist of 4 marks. 1 is lost if you can't be bothered to do the prelab - which can usually be done from trivial textbook reading or googling for a simple answer. The marks are allocated for attempt/success in completing the lab.
